Together with its Brazilian production company, ThermoStone distributes a wide range of soapstone products throughout Europe.
Who we supply
We mainly supply stove manufacturers with made-to-measure soapstone claddings. We also build solid soapstone stoves entirely to our customers’ instructions and wishes.
We supply sawmills with raw blocks, and stone processing plants obtain random-size slabs from us in various surface finishes for the production of kitchen worktops. Artists come to us looking for particularly unusual soapstones to create high-quality sculptures and monuments.

Managing Partner
Gerd Bergmann is the managing partner of ThermoStone GmbH. Having grown up in his father’s natural stone works, he completed business training and then passed the state examination as a stone technician. Mr Bergmann then spent many years in positions of responsibility at leading natural stone companies in the Carrara region. Changing areas of responsibility took him halfway around the world – always in search of new, high-quality natural stones. Mr Bergmann came to soapstone shortly after the turn of the millennium. Since then, the production and sale of soapstone have been a firm and central part of his business.
Geologist and natural stone specialist
As a geologist and natural stone specialist, Jörg Gallo specialises in locating deposits and operating quarries. He received his degree in geology from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1994 and has since been involved in projects in Europe, Brazil, China and Russia. A focus of his work is the soapstone and talc deposits in Brazil, where Mr Gallo is accredited and works as a geologist. For years, Mr Gallo has been responsible at ThermoStone for the quality assurance of our soapstone products and the smooth running of our business in Brazil.
